Participants include Lightower Fiber Networks, Softlayer, Tata Communications, Telefonica and Unitas Global
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—May 12, 2015— Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the global interconnection and data center company, today announced that Karl Strohmeyer, president, Equinix Americas, will be speaking at International Telecoms Week (ITW) 2015 taking place May 10-13 at the Hyatt Regency and Swissotel in Chicago, Illinois.
Strohmeyer will be leading the executive panel, “Where Opportunity Connects – Clouds & Networks,” on Tuesday, May 12 from 9-10:30am CT in Swiss Tower, Gold Level, Lucerne 3. The discussion will focus on solving the private cloud access challenge to provide a scalable and effective vehicle to utilize cloud services and implement a hybrid cloud environment. Service providers of every type, including data center providers, network service providers, cloud service providers and system integrators are working collectively to make it possible to consume cloud resources and applications via securable high bandwidth connectivity. The network and IT consumption model is becoming fungible and the IT and Network service provider industry is building a bridge to help enterprise CIOs implement hybrid cloud architectures.
The objective of the panel session is to review and compare what is currently being done to solve the connectivity challenges including elements associated with automating a telco service delivery model to match the on-demand cloud consumption model. This panel will explore what service providers need to do themselves, as well as collectively to satisfy enterprise requirements and the aforementioned challenges. Panelists will describe their part of the service chain and experience implementing or partnering to deliver private cloud connectivity as well as their vision of what’s to come in the next five years.
