Immer mehr Unternehmen begreifen die Cloud als Chance, denn sie eröffnet neue Wege sowohl für den Service-Provider als auch für den Endanwender. So verdrängen Cloud Services in zunehmendem Maße traditionelle IT-Architekturen und -  Modelle. Dabei muss differenziert werden zwischen den Service Quellen (d. h. neuen Bereitstellungswegen, wie z.B. Private, Public oder Hybrid Cloud), den Service Typen (wie z.B. XaaS) und den verschiedenen Geschäftsmodellen (denen der Cloud Subscriber, Provider oder Enabler). In seiner Präsentation wird Frank Zachmann, Sales & Marketing Director, Equinix, anhand von Beispielen aus der Praxis Services und Nutzen der Cloud darstellen und auf die Anforderungen aus Sicht der Anwender bezogen auf Performance, Verfügbarkeit und Konnektivität sowie die immanente Rolle der Rechenzentrumsdienstleister in der Cloud eingehen.
